Nissan dealer launches new campervan
A Lookers Nissan dealer has introduced a new campervan conversion service. Lookers Nissan on Kirkstall Road in Leeds, is offering the service to customers who purchase the diesel-powered NV300 van, which it will then have converted into a four-berth campervan.
It’s the first Lookers Nissan dealership to offer the service.
The dealer is using a local conversion company, called Convert Your Van Ltd in Sheffield, to build the campervans to customers’ specifications.
The starting price is from £49,000 but the final costs vary as there are so many options. While the dealer is offering this new conversion service, it is not building any campervans for stock and neither is it building any for rental.
On the base vehicle, there is a high standard specification level based on Nissan’s Tekna line, which includes cruise control, sat-nav, automatic headlights and wipers.
The campervan also comes with a pop-top, four travel seats, diesel heating and a side kitchen layout as standard. Sleeping quarters are made up of a double bed created using the sliding rear bench seat and two berths in the pop-top roof. It is then down to the customer to specify equipment levels from there.
Josh Tyerman, the dealer’s Local Business Development Manager, explained: “There isn’t a standard model as such, the dealership creates a bespoke model using the customers’ requirements.”
The campervan is covered by Nissan’s five-year, 100,000-mile warranty for the base vehicle, while the conversion equipment is covered by a one-year warranty and the conversion itself is covered by a lifetime warranty (subject to conditions).
The Leeds dealership hopes to tap into the increased number of people spending their holidays at home in the UK.
“We’re very excited to be offering this bespoke service that allows our customers to transform the Nissan NV300 into their dream campervan. It’s a brand-new service for Lookers Nissan and we hope that, with the recent warm weather getting everyone talking about the upcoming spring and summer, that our customers will be looking to make their stay in the UK this year that extra bit special,” said Josh. “Also, compared to other high-spec campervans on the market, a converted NV300 provides a cost-effective way to travel, live and sleep in style. Whether you’re thinking about going to a festival this summer or just enjoy the Great British countryside, we think we’ve found the ultimate solution. We can’t wait for people to come and see it for themselves.”
