New motorhome hire company on the way
One of the directors of a Bristol-based motorhome dealership set up just five years ago with a focus on selling Adria ‘vans has left the company to set up a hiring business on the same site.
Matt Sims, who founded the Family Travel Centre with Matt Hunt and Andy Hawkins, has set up the Motorhome Holiday Company, and will be taking on the company’s existing hire business, including a ‘Try Before You Buy’ option, with a view to expanding the operation.
Matt Hunt said the decision to split away the hire business, which offers a range of Adria four to six-berth coachbuilts, was, “A purely logistical and operational thing,” and the business will initially be operating out of the same site at the Brislington Retail Park.
He added, “Matt (Sims) is the entrepreneurial one among us three. While it was part of the Family Travel Centre it was clear that the hire business would always be confined. Matt has ambitious plans to grow it.”
Before joining the Family Travel Centre, Matt Sims had built up an event management business which he successfully sold on.
