New lenses for motorhome drivers
Transitions Optical has announced the launch of the Drivewear collection. The lenses are the first of their kind to sense and react to varying light conditions both outside and inside.
Drivers are often subjected to constant changing weather conditions, which affects visibility and safety on the road. Unlike fixed tint sunglasses, Drivewear lenses provide glare protection through polarisation and enhance and protect vision through photochromics. This advanced technology responds to both visible and UV light and allows the lenses to adjust their degree of darkness according to lighting conditions.
Transitions Drivewear lenses are made from a material called Trivex, which is lightweight with high resistance to impact. In low daylight, the lenses have a high contrast green/yellow colour designed to maximise useful light information reaching the eye. In average sunlight conditions, the lenses turn to a copper red, which is designed to remove excess light reaching the eye. In bright sunshine, they reach a deep brown colour designed for maximum filtration so that the eye does not get saturated.
The Transitions Drivewear combination of technologies and capabilities not only provide optimal visibility while driving but can also be extremely useful for cutting glare from water surfaces outdoors. They can be fitted on almost any type of sun frames and can be worn by anyone, regardless to whether they need a prescription or not.
