New category revealed for Motorhome Awards

The shortlist for the National Motorhome Awards 2016, sponsored by The Caravan Club, has been announced and one of the things to look our for is a new category dedicated to accessories. By this we mean anything extra you can buy and use in your motorhome to make your life easier, more informed or simply more fun. For this inaugral award, the shortlisted contenders are the Fugoo Sport, the FirePal JE-50, the Garmin nuviCAM and a the Truma iNet system.

The Fugoo Sport is easily the best Bluetooth speaker we've seen all year, combining great sounds with near-indestructibility and changeable sleeves. It's also the easiest device to set up and get working in seconds.

The FirePal FP-50 is a revolution in the world of fire extinguishers. Don't waste payload and space carrying an enormous, traditional device, simply mount this bijou extinguisher that can tackle different types of fire.

If you want the latest in sat-nav and dash-cam technology then look no further than the Garmin nuviCAM which combines both and uses the camera for advanced features like crash detection and lane departure warnings.

Finally, the Truma iNet system lets you control your Truma heating systems by remote control. It uses SMS messages if far away or Bluetooth if close by to set the temperature and check your water levels.
