The National Caravan Council’s Approved Workshop Scheme has hit a major milestone after the five-hundredth workshop joined the scheme.

The scheme, which has been operating since 1978, is a joint enterprise between the NCC, The Caravan and Motorhome Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club and to promote high standards among dealers and workshops offering motorhome and caravan habitation services.

For motorhome and caravan habitation services

The nationwide scheme, which has both fixed and mobile workshops, is the only one of its kind to be supported by all of the major UK caravan and motorhome manufacturers allowing ‘approved’ workshops to carry out servicing during the warranty period on their products without invalidating them.

“Unlike any other service engineer schemes, all of our workshops are monitored throughout the year as well as being assessed annually (by a team of independent assessors) to ensure they are continuously qualified to the correct standards, have the relevant insurances, calibrated tools and equipment and professional customer practices,” explained Sarah Wigmore, the Approved Workshop Scheme Manager.

Now, Coxy's Caravan Services has become the five-hundredth workshop to join the scheme. Coxy's Caravan Services is based in Richmond, Yorkshire, and is a mobile engineer. “Being a member of the AWS demonstrates to my customers my commitment to them and their safety,” said Coxy's Caravan Services Technician, Lee Cox. “It also provides them with the peace of mind in knowing that I am qualified and regularly assessed to the highest standard as AWS is seen as setting the benchmark for motorhome and touring caravan servicing in the UK.”
