Motorhome company goes santa and elf mad
Shrewsbury-based motorhome dealer, Salop Leisure (and sister company Love2Stay luxury camping resort), was filled with a sea of red and green as 280 people turned out for the company's annual fundraising event, the Salop Santa Dash.
The Santa Dash (a 5km route) was enhanced by a new event for kids this year, the Elf Dash, which saw 40 children complete a 1.1km course. The event raises funds for Shrewsbury Town in the Community, which supports 39 different programmes for local people of all ages.
Ed Glover, Salop Leisure’s marketing manager, said: “The event was a great success and we had excellent feedback from everyone who took part. We had lots of families taking part, some corporate groups, couples, friends, runners with prams and dogs and even one lady with a Zimmer frame. There was a mixture of ages and the atmosphere was great as people joined in the festive fun.
“We don’t yet know how much has been raised for Shrewsbury Town in the Community, but a donation will be made from the profit.”
This is just one of many festive features organised by the company, including a santa's grotto and skating rink.
