MMM writers scoop two top awards for motorhome journalism
MMM magazine writers have won two prestigious awards for their work on the magazine.
MMM travel writer, Carol Kubicki, scooped The Douglas King Award for Written Journalism for her article on touring in her campervan in Scotland for the January 2018 issue. Carol is one of MMM’s regular travel writers and she won the award for her beautifully descriptive feature on a five-day tour of the Loch Lomond area of Scotland in her Devon camper.
Carol was away touring in Spain when the awards took place. “I missed the glittering presentation evening because we were in deepest Spain in our campervan and so I heard I had won the award in a text from the secretary. I feel truly honoured that my travel writing is appreciated by others.”
Meanwhile, MMM’s second award went to Road Test Editor, Peter Vaughan, who scooped The John Wickersham Award for Video for a video review of the Dethleffs Trend I 7057 DBM, which appeared in the May issue of MMM magazine. Assisting with the production of the award-winning video was Martin Tempest, Warners’ Senior Video Producer.
“Product reviews are amongst the most difficult type of video to make interesting and entertaining but, in this video, Peter set the standard by which similar videos should be judged,” said the judges.
Both of the awards, which are named after two former prominent industry journalists, are sponsored by motorhome insurance specialist, Vantage Insurance Services.
