Frankia launches anniversary motorhome model plus new I 890 QD-B

German premium manufacturer, Frankia, has launched a limited edition A-class, called the Special Edition 1960.

This exceptional twin-axle 5,500kg A-class, which features the popular twin rear single beds, front lounge layout, has been launched to mark 60 years of Frankia.

Production of this model, which is powered by a 160bhp Fiat engine with nine-speed automatic transmission, is limited to 60 models and Frankia describes it as the most luxurious model it has ever produced.

“It’s a luxury apartment,” says Frankia and it has a unique interior design that sees a 32in TV, seats made of leather and microfibre fabrics, a new kitchen, new wider and deeper central washroom (shower room on one side and WC room opposite) and a standard level of equipment that is even higher than on the Fiat flagship Titan range.

For example, the kitchen has a coffee machine in its own ‘coffee corner’ with a glass case above for wine and Champagne glasses, a new three-burner hob and an extended worktop.

These 1960 models even have their own Visby White wood colour scheme. An alternative is also available.

The exterior has a stunning graphics scheme, which blends the Frankia logo with the numbers ‘1960’ and features a 5.5m Thule side awning.

In the cab, standard kit includes an Alpine radio and sat-nav system with Dolby speakers and a twin-lens rear view camera.

Other features include Alde heating, a Teleco satellite TV system, a 1700W inverter, three 110W solar panels, two 110AH lithium batteries and a huge 300-litre fresh water tank.

Frankia has also launched the new I 890 QD-B, which is based on a 5,500kg heavy-duty Fiat chassis.

This new A-class has a unique front lounge with four individual captain’s chairs (two in the cab) and an extending bar/table system that can be used as a multimedia workspace with hidden sockets and USB ports and a sliding 32in TV above.

It also has a rear island bed above a garage, and an extended kitchen with perhaps one of the largest worktop available in any motorhome.

In other news, the Frankia Neo is now available in two layouts on either a 3,500kg or 4,500kg chassis. The new layout mirrors the current Neo GD layout but adds a larger fridge/freezer – it is called the Neo GD-K.

There are also two special edition versions of the pair of Neos: the Neo 60 K comes with the Comfort Pack plus other extras while the Neo 60 N gets the Chassis Pack, plus other extras.

For the Mercedes-based M-Line and Platin models, Frankia has introduced reclining backrests for the dinette travel seats, as well as improving the storage access underneath these seats.

Frankia is also now offering the F-Line models on the 5,500kg Fiat chassis with either the 130bhp or the 160bhp engine (not 180bhp) and either manual or automatic gearboxes.

All the 890, F-Line and Titan ranges will get this 5,500kg chassis as standard, while on the twin-axle 790 and 840 it will be an option.

Finally, Frankia has discontinued the I 840 FD, the I/A 790 Plus E/DA and DA with rear drop-down bed and the A 790 Plus Titan.
