Clubs introduce new motorhome tours to Europe and worldwide
Both of the two main UK clubs – the Caravan and Motorhome Club (C&MC) and the Camping and Caravanning Club (C&CC) – have introduced new motorhome tours that take in destinations in Europe and throughout the world.
The Camping and Caravanning Club has introduced a new 22-day walking tour of Croatia to its Escorted Tours holidays.
This tour starts on 11 May and will take in the Istrian peninsula and north Croatian islands, including Losinj and Krk. The estimated total walking distance is 65 miles, covering varied terrain. Walks vary in length up to a maximum of 12 miles, or six hours in one day, and will often involve a coach transfer to and from site. Prices start from £2,180 per unit based on two adults sharing.
Escorted tours are where motorhomers travel in their own vehicle, as part of a group, all accompanied by an experienced group tour. All campsites are included, along with some meals and excursions.
Another new itinerary is of southern Italy, Sicily and Malta, with a May 2020 departure. This is a 35-day tour which takes in the Tyrrhenian coast, Sicily and Mount Etna and a two-day coach trip (with overnight hotel accommodation) to Malta. The guide price is £4,175 based for a motorhome and up to two adults sharing.
Motorhome relocation tour
The C&CC has introduced a third tour, with demand exceeding supply very quickly. This motorhome 'relocation tour' will see 40 campers collecting motorhomes from a factory in Tuscany in early May, driving them back to the UK, taking in Florence, Lake Garda and Reims along the way. Because of this tour's popularity - it is now fully booked; the C&CC plans to introduce more of such tours in the future.
These European tours add to the C&CC's extensive range of motorhome holidays that include detinations throughout the world including a unique tour of Sri Lanka.
Set in the Indian Ocean, few places in the world can offer such a remarkable combination of stunning landscapes, beautiful beaches, cultural heritage and unique experiences within such a small location.
Those lucky enough to join the C&CC’s 30-day tour will get to see the best of what this beautiful island has to offer, and furthermore they get their own driver to take them you from one stunning location to another. It’s a foodie voyage of discovery too, with most meals included in the price.
In addition, the C&CC offers a 32-day tour of South Africa, for which it is currently offering a discount of £650 per couple. The Club says this cultural tour of South Africa will provide those who take part with the opportunity to see the wild animals in their natural habitat. The Club also includes a Wild Card pass enabling free entry into all the national parks.
Other highlights of the Camping and Caravanning Club's South Africa tour include:
- A guided visit to the Cradle of Humankind with Lesedi Cultural Experience
- Entry to the Kruger National Park with a sunset drive
- A hippopotamus and crocodile cruise
- A sun-downer game drive in Addo Elephant Park
- A dinner cruise to the Knysna Heads
- An elephant encounter tour at Knysna
- A Stellenbosch wine-tasting tour, which includes lunch
- A guided tour of Cape Town
Caravan and Motorhome Club tours
Meanwhile, the Caravan and Motorhome Club is now offering the chance to book one of four motorhome tours in southern Africa, through its worldwide tour service.
There's a choice of two escorted tours and two independent tours.
The Roads of the Rainbow Nation is a 38-day escorted tour from Johannesburg to Cape Town, covering Kruger National Park and costs from £3,999 per person with departures in September this year and February and June next year.
The C&MC has also revealed a new escorted tour to Namibia, Botswana and Zambia over 33 days, with prices starting from £4,999pp with departures in November 2019, January 2020 and May 2020.
There is also a Wildlife and Wilderness independent tour highlighting the best of South Africa’s animal-life starting from £4,999pp with daily departures throughout 2019 and 2020.
Other tours are also available from the Caravan and Motorhome Club including new ones to Canada and Australia.
