Carthago redesigns Chic motorhome range
German premium manufacturer, Carthago, has focused on its Chic C-line range for the 2022 season
Four choices of interior
The redesigned Chic C-line, one of the longest-running Carthago ranges, now allows buyers to choose from four interiors: the Classica (cream and pear wood tones), the Moderna (modern wood grain and cream combo), the Progressiva (wood and cream tones with the wood positioned at the top) and the Siena (available in the 'superior' models and similar to the Progressiva but with a darker wood).
L-shaped lounges get swing-out shoe lockers, while a raised shelf now sits between the lounge and kitchen.
There is a slimline cocktail cabinet above, with space for the optional slide-out coffee machine underneath. Drawers are wider and there is room for an optional low-level gas oven.
Ambient floor-level lighting under the kitchen and lounge units is just one of the new illumination features - spotlights can now be operated independently of the ambient lighting and there is a dimmer function, too. The washroom, dubbed the wellness oasis, has new chrome details for the round shower doors, which are said to improve the sliding action.
Bedrooms get convex overhead lockers and open shelves sit in the corners. Single bed layouts get an extra TV cabinet (for a 24in screen) option in place of the shelves on the outside of the washroom wall.
The external panels also see changes adopting the c-brand graphics and a new habitation door and a radiator grille with vertical chrome accents - this can be upgraded with a new pack that offers horizontal chrome accents to the grille, too, as well as 16in alloys and a 'Liner-style' bonnet.
Available on Fiat or Mercedes
Some of the models can be ordered on the Fiat Ducato or Mercedes Sprinter, including the tag-axle Al-Ko XL versions. There are nine models on the Ducato along with four superior-badged models, while six are available on the Mercedes. There are also three Ducato-based low-profiles.
The C-tourer can be specified with a new pack that includes full LED headlights, chrome detailed fog lights, special graphics and a Liner-style bonnet design. Two low-profiles in this range see a revised lounge with raised shelf between the kitchen and seating, swing-out shoe rack and space for an optional 32in TV.
Carthago's Liner class models all get a new Safetyluxe XL habitation door, which can be specified with electric automatic door opening, keyless entry and extra LED lighting.
All Carthago Fiat-based models get the new Ducato cab, while Iveco Daily-based models get a new 3-litre, 207bhp engine with Air Pro suspension and sensor-controlled CDC shock absorbers at the rear.
