Bron Derw Certificated Location (CL), in Llanrwst, Snowdonia, has been awarded first-place in The Caravan Club’s CL of the Year Awards 2012.

Owners John and Beryl Edwards received their award from Mr John Whittingdale MP, Chairman of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, during The Club’s annual Parliamentary reception on Monday 19 November.

Certificated Locations are privately-owned, maximum five-van sites found across the UK, many in idyllic and remote locations on farms, country estates and beside inns, which can provide a valuable, additional income stream for local communities.

Voted for by Club members, Bron Derw are no strangers to the awards, coming second in 2010.

John and Beryl say: “We are thrilled to have won The Caravan Club CL of The Year Awards 2012. We were runners up in the awards in 2010, so now to be awarded first place is wonderful! We are very grateful to all of the members who voted for us.”
  • Crofton Hall Certificated Location in Thursby, Carlisle, was awarded second place
  • Old Granary Certificated Location, York, was awarded third place

Caravan Club Chairman, Grenville Chamberlain, says: “Access to The Caravan Club's unique 2,500-strong CL network is a huge benefit of membership and each and every CL is a gem in the jewelled crown of the overall sites network.

“CL owners are to be congratulated on their commitment to providing our members with a warm welcome and an exceptional place to enjoy their caravanning as well as the massive contribution they play in boosting local tourism economies.”
