Business as usual says CamperUK
CamperUK, a long-standing motorhome dealer in the Lincoln area suffered a devastating fire at its premises in North Hykeham on the night of Saturday 25 January, destroying much of the unit which has been their home for the past 10 years. After Saturday's fire, which appears to have started within a motorhome, we spoke to Dean Hyde, Managing Director of CamperUK about the fire and his plans for the future of the dealership.
Dean told MMM the fire was a devastating event, with a huge loss of motorhomes and specialist technical equipment, with all 'vans stored in the internal area of the dealership having been utterly destroyed, as well as important customer databases the dealer has built over the years. He was though, positive about the future of the company.
"We're down but not out." Dean said, "We've lost all our tools and parts, but fortuitously we were in the process of a move, so some 15 vans had been moved out of the showroom. The vans outside were left untouched too.
"Our staff has been just fantastic. We're bringing in our own tools and working with customers to replace lost stocks as best we can."
Dean told MMM the company was still looking forward to a move to their new premises, although some delay is likely, due to the loss of tools, 2014 stock and parts, which had already been boxed for moving.
The staff is continuing to meet daily, and are now looking at the full refurbishment of the new site so CamperUK can get back on its feet as soon as possible.
