Brownhills, the former main dealer for Hymer in this country, is no longer part of the Hymer dealer network. However, Brownhills will continue to service Hymer vehicles, carry out warranty work and sell Hymer parts for the next 24 months
The move follows the restructuring of Hymer in the UK and the creation of an independent dealer network."We mutually agreed that although we have enjoyed a successful relationship in the past, both companies now had different strategies and aspirations going forward, the decision is amicable and we wish each other well,” confirmed Paul Kershaw, the UK agent for Hymer Motorhomes.
“In order to look after its existing customers Brownhills will remain a Hymer service, parts and warranty agent for the next two years.”
Steve Cullen chief operating officer at Brownhills, added that dealer is happy with the arrangement and the move allows the dealer to “concentrate on its remaining franchises”.
Following the announcement, Hymer has appointed another new dealer: Kimberley Caravans in Darlington.
Kimberley joins Highbridge Caravans in Somerset, Travelworld in Shropshire, Lowdhams Hudersfield in West Yorkshire and Knowepark in Scotland.
This leaves open points in some areas including the northwest and southeast, although Paul said he is hopeful of completing the network and appointing dealers in these two areas “very soon”.
The current network of dealers have Hymer service and parts facilities. Paul added that there are “exceptional introductory offers” on Hymers now on sale at the new dealerships.
“With this one-off situation combined with improvements in the euro exchange rate, there will never be a better opportunity to secure a great deal,” said Paul.
However, he warned that vehicle stocks are limited.
