Baltic Wharf gets new lease of life
After facing the threat of closure, with a stay of execution until the end of August, The Caravan Club has announced that the popular Baltic Wharf campsite in the centre of Bristol will be staying open after all.
The Council had refused to renew the lease to the Caravan Club, and earmarked the site for redevelopment into a school. However, after motorhomers collected over 3,500 signatures in protest, meetings with the Mayor of Bristol and support from local business that would have been affected, the Caravan Club has now signed a new, three year lease, effective as of September this year, with Bristol City Council.
The campsite can now be booked using the Caravan Club’s online booking system at caravanclub.co.uk. You can read the background of this story as previously reported on outandaboutlive.co.uk.
