Non-Fixed Bed Motorhome
And the winner is...
... the Chausson 610 Flash (Ford Transit)
See why the Chausson 610 Flash is the Non-Fixed Bed Motorhome of the Year and the overall winner of Motorhome of the Year 2015
This category is one of the most open as, aside from the obvious requirement to have no permanent fixed beds, the rest is a no-holds-barred situation. This means lounge-based ’vans dominate, but A-classes and others, with their drop-down double beds were still very much in the frame to gain an Awards gong.
- The 610 starts with a superb choice of specification – our winner is on Ford’s superb new Transit, but you can have it on the Fiat Ducato too
- The kitchen is spacious, with big drawers and a fridge/freezer. The three-burner hob and sink – both with glass lids – take up quite a lot of the worktop, but you can always use that large lounge table.
- The washroom, which, in spite of this motorhome’s near entry-level status, is best described as magnificent. Vast amounts of floor-space and a true class-leading separate shower are both surprising and impressive.
- Ford’s latest Transit is lovely to drive, with a beautiful cab environment and excellent driver ergonomics, especially for shorter people.
Winner: Chausson 610 Flash (Ford Transit)
The runner up is...
... the Swift Rio 320
Runner-Up: Swift Rio 320
If lounge space is important and you like the idea of opening it up to the great outdoors when on site, this Swift Rio offers a great alternative to a van conversion with a rear lounge that makes singles or a big double and a large opening tailgate.
