Movelite and Cayman driveaway awnings

Cayman combo PC Air awning

from £999 (Cayman Combo PC Low), £1,349 (Movelite T4E PC Low)

Packed dimensions:

66cm x 38cm x 35cm (Cayman Combo PC), 88cm x 56cm x 47cm (Movelite T4E PC)

3m x 4m, plus 80cm cowl depth (Cayman Combo PC), 5.20m x 3.10m, plus 1m cowl depth (Movelite T4E PC)

25.1kg (Cayman Combo PC), 39kg (Movelite T4E PC)

Height range:

1.80m–2.55m (Cayman Combo PC), 1.80m–3.05m (Movelite T4E PC)

This year sees big changes for Outdoor Revolution’s popular driveaway awning ranges, Cayman and Movelite, including new models made with its Technical Polycotton (PC) fabric. The Cayman range offers a choice of models with either an air frame or glass-fibre poles, but the main news is with the Combo Air model. This has been extended for 2022 and now has twin-ended canopies with glass-fibre poles – this design means it’s suitable for campervans with either left or right-hand access doors.

Plus, the Combo Air can accommodate a two-berth inner tent when used in conjunction with the Porch Door accessory option. This awning is still made with the 120HDE Hex all-weather lightweight fabric with 3,000mm hydrostatic head, meaning it weighs in at 18.5kg.

However, you can also get this model in breathable polycotton, the Combo PC Air. This new Technical Polycotton fabric combines the benefits of cotton and polyester; it is breathable and water resistant as well as fade resistant – perfect for use in warmer climates, while reducing humidity and condensation inside the awning. Plus, it dampens down noise, too. This, too, can be specified with a zip-on porch door and extra two-berth inner tent, like its sibling. In standard form, the Cayman Combo PC awning weighs 25.1kg.

Both the Combo Air and Combo Air PC come in two heights: Low is ideal for campervans 1.80m to 2.10m tall and the Mid is suitable for vehicles measuring 2.10m to 2.55m high. The popular Movelite awnings remain a mainstay of the Outdoor Revolution range, but have now been redesigned for the coming 2022 season. Three models are made out of an extremely lightweight 240HDE polyester (offering 4,000mm hydrostatic head), with the final model benefiting from the same polycotton fabric found in the previously mentioned Cayman Combo PC.

All Movelite models come in three heights, making them suitable for the majority of motorhomes and campervans (with fixing point heights from 1.80m to 3.05m – if you have a cassette awning fitting, then this is the height you need to measure). There are also a full range of new options available, including porch door extensions, sleeping annexes and sun canopies. The Movelite range also comes with Outdoor Revolution’s DSV inflation valve and IF pressure relief valve as standard.

The latter will automatically release air if the pressure inside the inflation tube increases, such as on hot days. The DSV, meanwhile, has been designed to expel the air from the tubes in a matter of seconds with a press of a button, making the packing-up process much quicker.

Sportlite Air 320L

The Sportlite Air 320L

from £649

Packed dimensions:

83cm x 50cm x 41cm

2.50m x 3.20m

Height range:

Designed to be lighter, which makes it faster to erect, the Sportlite fixed awning range is made from the 280HDE fabric. The welded Dura-Tech air frame has a single inflation point and pressure relief valve for use in warmer weather.

This 320L porch awning is still Outdoor Revolution’s best seller, as its lightness (under 20kg) allows it to be attached to wind-out awnings fixed to the side of a motorhome. Other features include diamond-clear PVC windows, reflective guylines, and you get an adjustable webbing pegging system, draught skirt, leg set, carry bag and pump.

There is also a zip-up blind-style curtain system. For added space, zip-out doors (with zip-back mesh panels) on the side means you can add an annexe to either end, plus there’s a two-berth clip-in tent, awning storage hanger and other things to customise your Sportlite.

Eclipse Pro 380L

Eclipse Pro 380L

from £1,099

Packed dimensions:

86cm x 57cm x 48cm

2.50m x 3.80m

Height range:

Previously only consisting of lower awnings, the Eclipse Pro range now has a model suitable for taller motorhomes. The 380L adopts all the benefits of the existing Eclipse Pro range: Dura-Tech air frame, single inflation point and the Intelligent Frame (IF) release valve, to protect against air pressure increases during warm weather.

Plus, it’s made of Outdoor Revolution’s Pro 600HD fabric, with a 6,000mm hydrostatic head. Both side doors have zip-back breathable mesh panels, allowing air in but keeping bugs at bay. You can also swap these, and the central front panel, for optional zip-in full mesh panels, while a windowed annexe can be added for extra living, sleeping or storage space.

Standard features include a pump, draught skirt, peg set, storm straps and carry bag, as well as attachment points for the company’s Lumi-Link LED lighting systems.

Highlights and features of 2022 Outdoor Revolution awnings and more

  • Awning fabrics are specially designed for durability, UV resistance, weather proofing and a high strength-to-weight ratio.

  • Every awning design is weather tested in Outdoor Revolution’s purpose-built rain house. This simulates heavy rainfall, similar to that found in a tropical storm.

  • All air tubes are tested for 72 hours before being installed in the awnings, plus inflation and pressure release valves are tested to high-pressure tolerances before being fitted.

  • Cayman driveaway awnings redesigned for 2022 with three new models: Combo Air polycotton, Curl XLE fibreglass, Cacos SL Air.

  • Lifetime guarantee on the Air Frame System with DSV and IF valves (ts and cs apply).

  • Movelite awnings made from 240HDE lightweight fabric offering 4,000mm hydrostatic head. T3, T4E and T4E PC models now have four-berth clip-in tent option.

  • Esprit Pro X is a new driveaway awning for 2022 – an Oxford weave fabric has the look and feel of a traditional awning, but remains lightweight.

  • Eclipse Pro fixed caravan awning range sees the addition of a motorhome option for 2022, the 380L.

  • Shelter and windbreak range includes four screenhouses, pop-up beach shelter and windbreaks (pop-up, air frame and poles).
