The Morelo Empire Liner is a particularly impressive statement for all those first-class motorhome enthusiasts who want to treat themselves to that little bit extra on and off the road. Plus, this year, you can specify it on a Mercedes-Benz Actros. All Empire Liner models have a redesigned front that incorporates striking design elements from its big brother, the Grand Empire.

There is a choice of 10 different layouts for the Mercedes-Benz Actros 1840 L, five of which have a slide-out. The luxury liners offer a rear garage for vehicles from 2.75m up to 4.65m long.

The difference in dimensions between the Atego and the Actros is minimal - the biggest difference is with payload. Here, the Actros 1840 L and the even more powerful Actros 1846 clearly outperform the Atego. Depending on the model, the payload ranges from a very pleasing 5,475kg to 6,830kg.

The Actros 1840 L has a 10.7-litre engine offering a maximum torque of 1,900Nm; that’s 700Nm more compared to the Atego models. With the Actros 1846, that torque rises to 2,200Nm. There’s also the finely tuned 12-speed transmission in combination with the intelligent PowerShift 3 automatic, which allows the driver to choose between different application-oriented automated modes.

Numerous driving assistance systems are available with the new base, such as the Roll Control Assist, Collision Prevention Assist and Traffic Sign Assist. Instead of mirrors, the Empire Liner can be fitted with the optional MirrorCam camera system for improved all-round visibility. Prices for the Empire Liner on the Mercedes-Benz Actros 1840 L start from around €500,000 including 19% VAT. The Empire Liner is also available on the Actros 1846 L.

Palace 88 G motorhome

Morelo Empire Liner motorhome

Specifications

Price:

from €280,350

Base vehicle:

Iveco Daily 70C18

Layout:

Island bed

Berths:

2

Travel seats:

4

Length:

from 8.99m

Gross weight:

7,490kg

Payload:

1,950kg

In terms of both length (8.99 metres) and weight (5,540kg unladen), the new Palace 88 G is decidedly compact. It is not only over half a metre shorter, but also weighs 180kg less than its big brother, the 90 G. Nevertheless, its rear garage offers enough space for a Smart Fortwo car. With its dimensions, this new model is also suitable for many normal camping pitches.

The roof and side walls have the tried-and-tested 38mm RTM insulation and the GRP hail-resistant roof. A spacious double floor can be heated and, with a height of 420mm, not only offers space for the large fresh water, grey water and black water tanks (360/250/250 litres), but also plenty of storage space.

The extra-wide entrance door has a code lock and remote control. The 5.5kW central heating with thermostatic control, as well as the floor heating in the living area, bathroom and cab, mean this Palace is a real first-class choice even in winter.

With the 88 G, Morelo has proved that luxury does not have to be a question of pure size, but of intelligent space concepts.

This year, the overcab is returning to the Morelo Palace range. Based on the Iveco Daily 70C18, buyers get Morelo-typical workmanship and design in an overcab body style. For the first time, up to six belted seats are available as an option.

There are five layouts offering fixed beds or lounges at the rear. Depending on the model and equipment, the maximum payload is between 1,865kg and 2,460kg. The roof and side walls of the Palace have an excellent 38mm of RTM insulation. Combine this with the 5.5kW hot-water-gas central heating and a double floor that holds the waste and water tanks, and it’s a genuine all-season motorhome.

Inside, the entire living area has floor heating. The bathroom has a generous stand with a seamlessly integrated washbasin, a large mirrored cabinet, a separate real-glass shower and a ceramic toilet with a large fixed tank. Despite compact kitchen dimensions, there is everything a cook needs: luxury gas cooker with automatic ignition, powerful microwave with hot-air and grill function and the 177-litre compressor fridge with separate freezer compartment.

Highlights of Morelo 2022 motorhomes

  • The Empire Liner range is now based on the Mercedes-Benz Actros 1840 L / 1846 L, as well as the Atego. This offers more power and torque, and better driver safety systems.

  • The Palace range adopts a new, more compact layout, the 9m-long 88 G. This has a rear island bed and generous washroom, with a garage capable of fitting a Smart car. Increased payload and the ability to fit on more standard campsite pitches are just two of the benefits.

  • Five overcab models return to the Palace line-up, with up to six seatbelts on offer.
