Old Hall Caravan Park

IF you're looking to get away from it all in a rural and tranquil site that offers a peaceful tonic to the midweek grind, then Old Hall Caravan Park is the place for you. It's easy to get to, thanks to being located just three miles from the M6 motorway, yet far enough away from it to be quiet and secluded. The site itself offers 38 pitches all of which are full monte versions set in neat terraced rows on hardstandings. All have 16 amp electric hook-ups and fresh and waste water points. They also have TV aerials built in so all you need do is bring your Freeview box and plug a co-axial cable into the bollard - easy.
Also on site are various holiday homes in a separate area - these are all owner occupied, so there's no danger of rowdy tourists disturbing you.
Over 80 acres of forest surrounds the site and there's good walking to be had for both you and your family - and your four-legged friend (dogs are welcome here). There are many woodland walks and trails to access directly from the site and these are full of wildlife. Nature lovers may spot deer, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, all sorts of birds and, if they're lucky, even the odd badger here.
If you've not managed to sufficiently wear out the children on your day's activities, there's an impressive outdoor adventure playground for them to clamber over. This features log climbing frames and obstacles and is set over bark chippings. There's also a football field.
Amenities include a well-equipped toilet block that is centrally-heated and offers free showers, disabled facilities, baby-changing and a laundry room. This features washing machines, tumble dryers and ironing facilities. There's also a dish-washing area and chemical emptying point.
Although, there's no shop or restaurant on site, the nearby town of Over Kellet is just over one mile away and offers the Eagles Head pub, which serves food every day. The village also has antique shops and a church (bizarrely, the church vicar aims to be the first vicar in space!), together with a grocery shop / post office and a village green.
The site itself is also handily placed for visiting both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Park - depending on which direction you point your vehicle in. The sandy beaches of Morecambe are also close by, while Morecambe Bay itself is just a few miles away from the site. For stocking up on groceries or barbecue supplies, it's worth noting that there are supermarkets nearby, too and plenty of local pubs in the area.
To help you keep in touch, WiFi is available on site and there's an information room too - so you'll also be able to find plenty of things to do in this scenic part of the world. Fishing, bird-watching, swimming, golfing, bowling, boating, horse-riding and even scuba diving are just some of the activities on offer so boredom isn't possible!
