Grange Farm Touring Park

129be3b0-8f75-4486-821c-63e8c5cf20ac
THE first thing that strikes you about Grange Farm is what a great location it has.

Drive in through the wide entrance (which offers plenty of room for even the largest of leisure vehicles) and it’s clear that the owners have done a lot of landscaping work on the site. Reception is housed in the small onsite shop, with gravelled roads leading off to the pitches.

Opposite reception are two toilet blocks – both of which have been recently updated and feature disabled facilities, loos, showers and an outdoor covered washing up area.

The star feature to the site is that it is bordered by the River Wissey on one side. This not only gives visitors the chance to watch assorted watercraft chugging past (with boats trips also offered at certain times) but it also gives a chance for anglers to dip their rods. You can fish here at no extra cost (so long as you have a rod licence) and the river offers a good variety of fish, including perch, roach and pike.

The river also attracts a wide variety of wildlife and guests can also have the use of the fishing lake, too at a small charge of £3 per day. With the site being well manicured and maintained to a high standard, plus the relaxing ambiance that the river provides, this is a great place to let the hassles of everyday life gently ebb away.
There is a small shop on site that is open from April until September, while across the road is a petrol station that has a decent mini-market. The nearby village of Stoke Ferry has one pub, two takeaways and a post office.

Nearby attractions include Gooderstone Water Gardens, Grimes Graves at Lynford (an underground flint mine dating back to Stone Age man), Oxburgh Hall (a National Trust property) and Thetford Forest. Downham Market is also just a short drive away and offers Collector’s World.
