Lissett’s range of luxury homes come in a wide range of styles The Halcyon is the most futuristic in design and the most luxurious yet.

Val Chapman explores Lissett Homes’ new prestige creation

Lissett Homes have been making leisure accommodation for 30 years. The latest holiday home creation heralds a new era of sophistication and grandeur. This is the Halcyon, a three-bedroom home with a range of opulent features including reclining sofas, remote-controlled blinds and enormous concertina doors flooding the lounge, dining area and kitchen with natural light.

The Halcyon also has ceiling-mounted speakers, and a music “management system” enabling you to stream music from your phone or other device. Speakers are fitted to all of the rooms.

And, at night, the Halcyon is spectacularly illuminated with bright blue lights outlining the roofline and the windows plus 24 LED spotlights set into the soffits defining the unique stepped roof line.

Lounge

Lounge

The holiday home with a name that means idyllically happy or peaceful has a gorgeous lounge equipped with three sumptuous sofas, a coffee table, a lamp table and a large bronzed mirror. The blinds in this room are remote-controlled.

The feature white planked ceiling and natural oak flooring in the lounge and dining-kitchen areas is superbly modern and delightful.

Dining

Dining

The Halcyon has Italian designer dining furniture – an oval dining table and six chairs, positioned by the concertina doors, so you can open up the front of your holiday home and let the outdoors in; almost alfresco dining style.

Kitchen

Kitchen

Lissett manufactures its own kitchen units; the colour scheme in the Halcyon is called Kashmir. It’s matt pale grey and appealingly plain. The sink is rimless, flush-inset, with a high-arching tap. The designer worktops are in marble-effect. The units have concealed under-locker lighting and the top lockers have adjustable shelves, a pull-out larder unit and carousel-style shelving, plus four plate holders, are features of the lower storage arrangements.

All the appliances are Bosch – oven, microwave, extractor, ceramic induction hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and even a wine cooler.

Bathrooms

The Halcyon has a bathroom plus an ensuite shower room to the main bedroom, at the rear of the holiday home.

Both have fully tiled walls, underfloor heating and dual-fuel radiators.

The main bathroom has a luxurious bath-shower unit, 1.7m long and 70cm wide, shaped rather like a letter ‘P’, with the shower in wider section. The vanity unit has an inset washbasin and designer tap, plus a double-door cabinet with a double mirror, shaving point and LED lights.

The ensuite shower room has a shower unit measuring 1.25m x 75cm with a concealed digital shower system, recessed lights and shelves. The vanity unit has a large designer counter top surrounding the washbasin.

Bedrooms

Bedroom 1

All three bedrooms have feature tongue-and-groove headboard walls, luxuriously carpet with underlay, eyelet curtains of designer fabric and rope-style tie-backs white blinds and speakers set into the ceiling. And all three have 32-inch wall-mounted televisions.

Bedroom One has a 5 ft x 6ft 6in bed with a deep buttoned designer headboard, throw and scatter cushions to match. Fitted furniture, made by Lissett, is in Kashmir shade. Recessed reading lights are above the bed. A 32-inch television is mounted on the wall. The wardrobe has sliding doors with bronzed glass.

Bedroom Two has two zip-link beds measuring 3ft wide and 6ft3 in long, so you can use them as twin beds or a large double. This bedroom also has sliding robe doors.

Bedroom Three has twin beds, each 3ft wide and 6ft 3in long. Both this bedroom and Bedroom Two have scatter cushions, headboards and throws to match.

The utilities

There’s a washing machine cupboard off the hallway, equipped with a Bosch washing machine and separate condensing dryer with stacking system.

The boiler room houses the underfloor heating system manifold, the exhaust system for the air pump and a hanging rail.

Fine details

Attention to detail is gorgeous, with bathroom trimmings made of tiny shells and starfish introducing a seaside feel to the Halcyon. Curtains have neat, grey rope-effect ties made of fine crochet-effect fabric. And bathroom taps spout water from the top of the tap, rather than beneath the faucet. Cushions have fine embossed designs and colours of cool greys and bright citrus shades.
