This special edition caravan, the Venus Deluxe 590 from dealer group, Marquis, features £1,200-worth of added equipment for no extra cost
Venus Deluxe is special for two reasons. It is the only dealer special range based on Venus, and it boasts £1,200-worth of extra equipment for no additional outlay. These caravans are made by Lunar. When you add on the normal delivery charge of £525, they are the same price as standard Venus caravans.
The Venus Deluxe £1,200 package of extras includes alloy wheels, shock absorbers, extra interior LED lighting, a light on the drawbar cover to illuminate the gas locker when you open it, a barbecue point, a USB charging socket, plus graphics to distinguish the brand, as well as the ‘Mulberry’ soft furnishings scheme, used in Lunar’s higher-spec Lexons.
There are five layouts in the Venus Deluxe range — four single-axle models and a twin-axle model. We chose the largest of the single-axle models for this review, the brilliant family-layout 590, with bunks and a dining area in a separate ‘room’ at the rear. This model is priced at £18,924. Its MTPLM is 1,405 kg — that’s 25 kg more than the standard Venus 590, due to the extra equipment.
The six-berth Venus Deluxe 590, with a three-seater table alongside the bunks and long front settees, is a splendid option for families looking for plenty of space in a lightweight caravan. Kitchen space is ideal for cooking meals for six, especially when you hinge up the work surface extension to create 1.32 m of food prep space.
Enhanced lighting is part of the Deluxe package. Lights run under the pelmets and are set within the shelving alcoves on either side of the central front top locker.
Neat spotlights emit light from both ends. There are two bright circles of light in the ceiling — these are ‘touch-control’ — the first touch puts on a small, blue, night light and the second touch illuminates a bright ring of light. In any night-time combination, they create a great ambience.
