Discover a caravan with a rear family room of bunks and a dining area — plus plenty of storage space
The Venus 590 is one of the longest single-axle family caravans on the market, yet has an MTPLM of only 1380 kg.
This model has the popular rear family room layout, with bunks and a three-seater dining area. Long settees at the front enable mum and dad to choose whether to use these as single beds or draw out bed bases from under each settee to meet in the centre and create a double bed.
The kitchen surface is large, curving slightly outwards over the cabinet containing a cutlery drawer on the fore end.
Cooking equipment includes three burners and a hot plate, a full oven and grill, and a microwave.
The washroom, on the offside, contains a separate shower ‘cubicle’.
Storage space is well up to the needs of six, with a large wardrobe (which has two drawers and a cupboard beneath it), five top lockers and ample space under the seating. Its spaces under the rear seats are especially easy to access. The larger one, at the rear, has both front and top access. The smaller one rises at the flick of a fingertip, on self-supporting hinges.
An unusual feature of the 590 is its large rear window which means that, if you have a tall towcar, you are likely to get a rear view through the caravan. It also ensures this area of the caravan is especially light and bright.
Venus styling cues for 2019 are cool fawns with an injection of a summer theme stitched into the cushions. These soft furnishings bear words relating to beaches, sea and ice creams, because, frankly, don’t we all love to be beside the seaside?
