Full review
Two-seater rear tables were features of a once-classic layout that disappeared amid a tide of layout innovation. But now this layout is back, in the form of Lunar’s newest Quasar, the 464.
And this caravan packs in some features that are amazing for its length, weight and price.
First and probably most important is that it has a separate shower in its offside washroom. Other distinguishing features include the lovely long window in the door. And the hob has dual duel and television points at each end of the caravan both have satellite connectivity.
The key feature of the 464 is that it accommodates four in only 1240kg of caravan and offers flexibility of use. That’s because the lounge makes single beds as well as a double. And the rear area can be the play zone, the breakfast room, the kids’ dining area… Many will argue that this layout makes far better use of space than fixed bunks, because daytime function is so useful.
There’s something else to distinguish the 464. With a tall car, you get a view of the road behind the caravan; that’s something that also enhances ease – and therefore enjoyment of the tow element of your holiday.
This caravan is only 4.69 metres long, you’d expect it to feel small in some respects. But it doesn’t. Even the shower room is amazingly spacious and there’s enough floor space for dressing.
Kitchen equipment includes a mains hotplate, full oven and grill, plus a microwave. Only in one respect does this kitchen suffer as a result of its short length. That’s lower storage. Just one narrow cabinet, with two shelf areas and a small cutlery drawer above.
