LOOKING rather like a pensioner in a shell suit, the Lord Münsterland Caravan Dominant 480 TUL (phew!) doesn’t quite gel thanks to its ridged-aluminium exterior mixed with alloy wheels and flared wheelarches.
But look beyond that and there’s plenty to draw you in, not least a particularly impressive washroom that offers far more space than most of the LMC’s rivals. In fact the washroom is so big that it’s where the wardrobe is located – and there’s plenty of space to use it as a changing room too.
While you might find the amount of wood in the living quarters a bit much (it is rather unrelenting), and some of the materials used are on the drab side, it’s well put together and well thought out.
The well-equipped kitchen doesn’t offer a separate draining board, but at least there’s worktop space aplenty. While you’re eating your meal you might find the rather flat sofa cushions don’t offer much support, but at least you’ll get a better night’s sleep as this makes for a more comfortable double bed. Being German in origin, the main door is on the offside.
While this isn’t ideal, it doesn’t make that much difference in practice. What’s perhaps more of a pain is the fact that you can currently buy the LMC through just the one outlet – and they’re situated in South Wales. Still, if you’re tempted, you’d better hot foot it down to Continental Caravans in Carmarthenshire.
