IT’S often said that the best things come in small packages, and when you look closely at the Familia you’ll find yourself nodding sagely in agreement - this is one cool caravan.
If only more caravans were like this, caravanning would be able to change its dowdy image overnight; this is funky like only a European caravan can be.
Unfortunately it’s not wall-to-wall great news though, because not only is the Eriba rather pricey for such a small caravan, but the living space it offers is also on the meagre side. As a result, you can’t help thinking that perhaps you’re paying for something that offers lots of form but relatively little function.
If all this seems rather negative, take solace in the fact that although the Eriba’s interior is somewhat bijou, it does offer enough space for two to holiday in comfort, complete with most of the luxuries of home. That means you’ve got cooking and washing facilities. And if you thought you could take those for granted, this is the only Familia (of four offered) that comes with a washroom.
But the best bit is the pop-up top; it makes the caravan easier to tow and store, yet ensures headroom is maximised when you’re living in it. How cool is that?
