IF you’re one of those people who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing, look away now.
Coachman doesn’t cater for those on a budget, its caravans being well-built, generously specified - and relatively pricey.
The second most-costly caravan here (but still not exorbitantly priced), the Amara offers room for just two - and this is an entry-level model so you could easily spend even more on a caravan that’s no bigger. However, being a newcomer to caravanning doesn’t mean you have to slum it, so this is the sybarite’s ideal starter caravan.
For 2007 there have been several significant changes, the most welcome being an increase in width to 7ft 4in. If that doesn’t excite you greatly, perhaps the new graphics, higher quality fittings and refreshed exterior design will do the trick.
It’s not just the detail that appeals though; the layout works superbly thanks to the spacious washroom that sits across the back of the caravan. This frees up space for a comfortable lounge in the nose and a galley that’s got plenty of worktop space, as long as you’re prepared to use both sides of the aisle.
Buy one of these and you’ll wonder why you didn’t take up caravanning sooner.
