A lightweight two-berth with lots of storage capacity, especially in the kitchen

Phoenix might be Bailey's lowest spec, lowest priced range but these caravans are anything but basic. This little gem, the Bailey Phoenix 420, is a well-designed option for buyers looking for a two-berth.

The baby of the seven-model Phoenix range has many practical elements. These include an unusual feature: two coat hooks in a recess by the door.

In the kitchen

The hob has a double cover, so it becomes part of the kitchen surface when it's closed.

Nice touches include lighting above all the lockers.

To the rear of the four-burner hob, oven and grill is a square sink, set into plenty of work surface, with a wide cabinet and drawer beneath. Kitchen storage space is more than sufficient.

Opposite the kitchen, the dresser houses a microwave, with a cabinet above, the fridge, plus five shelves.

Into the living space

The full-width rear shower room contains a large wardrobe, with a shelf above the hanging area, and a four-shelf cabinet beside it.

The dresser is the natural place for your TV thanks to connection points here.

One of the 420's four power points is at the front end of the lounge. But there's no aerial point here. We think, in this layout, many buyers will prefer to put their TV on top of the central front drawer unit and use the dresser for extra kitchen space.

The lounge seating is firm and ultra-comfortable, with backrests that curve towards the wall and seem to fit snugly into your shoulders.

Good accessories

Something which sets Phoenix apart from all other ranges is its accessorising options. As standard, these models come without scatter cushions.

An option pack, at £229, includes four gorgeous pink and purple cushions plus two pure wool fringed throws, as well as a carpet for the washroom.
