THE Ace is another Swift Group product, and once again it’s taken from the company’s entry-level range - but refreshed for 2007 with a much smarter exterior look.
Instead of the Vogue’s four berths, the Ambassador offers space for just two; this caravan is effectively a shorter version of the Abbey Vogue 520. As a result, the washroom is just the same, and so is the lounge that’s located at the front of the caravan. But, in the middle, the kitchen is on either side of the aisle (rather than just on the nearside), with the dinette being ditched. It’s a layout that works really well, because the caravan is both small and light, which means you don’t need anything especially large to pull it.
One of the least expensive caravans here, the Jubilee feels far from cheap inside - but if you’re looking for bright colours and adventurous design, you’ll be sorely disappointed with the Ace. Still, you can console yourself with generous levels of standard kit, with items such as a blown-air heating system, 107-litre fridge/freezer and double glazing. Any car that tips the scales at 1,500kg or more will be fine to tow it.
