HAVING a full-size caravan doesn’t necessarily mean having lots of berths, which is great if there are just two of you and you don’t want masses of wasted space.
The folks at Abbey have been busy lately, creating a new model that really delivers, so while there may not be beds galore on offer, there are plenty of other features to entice you in.
Of course the biggest bonus with having just two berths is that there’s plenty of space freed up for a bigger washroom and kitchen. Despite this, there’s still not enough work space in the Aventura’s galley – even if there’s no shortage of places to stash things. But there is masses of room to move around and you won’t be cursing at the lack of equipment because there’s everything you need to create those culinary masterpieces. Things get even better when you go into the washroom, because as well as the generous amount of space, it’s all very well thought out.
If you’re wondering what the catch is with the Aventura, you won’t find it in the lounge. Although the Aventura is at the budget end of Abbey’s line-up, it doesn’t feel cheap at all, although a bit more illumination wouldn’t go amiss. Perhaps the only minor gripe is with the rather flat cushions on the sofa, but that only makes for a more comfortable bed come the night time. So it’s good news all the way with the Abbey, although it’s nothing to get excited about as such.
