Winners announced in Caravan Design Awards 2008

A LIST of winners have been named in The Caravan Club’s Caravan Design Awards 2008.

A total of 58 vehicles were submitted for the awards which aim to provide caravanners with “fair and objective assessments”. All manufacturers are invited to enter.

The panel of independent judges assess everything from seating comfort, standing headroom, kitchen design, storage, switches, wiring, security, repair and warranty and general safety.

Chairman Grenville Chamberlain said: “It is great to see another year of fantastic support for these awards.”

The awards, now in their 13th year, were hosted at the NEC in Birmingham.

Winners of the Caravan Design Awards were:

Any caravan retailing under £11,000 – Sprite Alpine 2.

Best Family Caravan between £11,000 to £14,999 – Sterling Eccles Moonstone.

Two berth caravans between £11,000 - £14,999 – Sterling Elite Diamond.

Caravans with Dedicated Beds between £11,000 - £14,999 – Bailey Senator Series 6 Indiana.

Any Caravans retailing over £15,000 – Aistream International 684.

Any Fifth Wheel Caravan – Fifth Wheel Company Celtic Rambler.
