Trek-Away mini caravan unveiled
A mini caravan with a settee that converts to bunks has been unveiled.
At just 3 metres in body length, the new TrekAway is caravanning in miniature. Yet it has all of the basics. It has a tiny fridge, a two-burner hob and a sink plus a bench-style toilet in a shower compartment with a shower.
The settee converts two bunk beds. A slim table hinges down from the wall. It even has a built-in digital clock.
There’s a wardrobe plus two wide drawers and the kitchen has a small drawer plus a two shelf cabinet.
The Trek-Away has a body length of 3.02m. Its unladen weight is 720kg.
The unit was unveiled to the public at the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC in October.
You can buy a basic Trek-Away Classic for £9598 or the Excel version for £13,198. This version comes complete with blown air heating, a gas-powered water heater, a toilet with a 12-volt flush mechanism, a wash basin and a fridge. Buyers can also add equipment from a list of extras that includes leather upholstery, a TV and DVD player and a cassette wind-out awning. Exterior finish is on the extras list, too; the grey metallic paint on the unit unveiled to the public at the NEC Motorhome and Caravan Show in October adds £1620 to the price.
Trek-Aways are made Sheffield and sold, initially, at Moto-Trek Leyland, Lancashire PR26 8LP. Tel: 01772 601389).
