We only started caravanning last year, but we liked this site so much that we have booked for two return trips next year.

Located just south of Truro, Carnon Downs Caravan Park is an immaculate site with well cut grass and mature trees and shrubs, all well laid out in sections with spacious serviced sites, normal hook up pitches and a mixture of hardstanding and grass. The site caters for caravans, motorhomes and tents. There is a good dog walk area children's play area and a football field.

There are excellent toilet and shower blocks, plus food preparation areas, chemical disposal points, laundry rooms, drying areas and a games room. There is also a chest freezer available for use.

The reception sells newspapers and other basic items, a mobile fish and chip van calls once a week and a milkman calls daily.

Our top tip for eating and drinking locally is the nearby Punch Bowl and Ladle Pub, which was friendly and had a good atmosphere.

The town of Truro is only three miles away - useful for the usual supermarkets and shops. The situation of the site makes for short travelling distances to both coasts of Cornwall.

We loved the super facilities, serviced pitches and flat walking nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful and the site gets ten out of ten for cleanliness. We are planning to return later this year, as the location is fantastic for discovering Cornwall.
