Lunar Automotive 2020 season caravan launch
The new owners of the Lunar caravans brand, Lunar Automotive Ltd, launched their 2020 season caravans, including a new range, last week in Burnley, Lancashire.
What’s happening with the ‘new’ Lunar?
Lunar Automotive’s managing director, Nicholas Marks, stated he’s aiming to stand by historic warranties provided by the brand’s former owners on ‘sold and future’ products. He added, however, that the business still has legal issues to deal with before they can confirm the details on warranties.
Mr Marks aims to improve recent production challenges with Lunar Caravans. He said:
“We want to get a better product to market and have happier customers. Less aggravation in our product for customers is the aim.”
Nicholas Marks comes from a manufacturing background, and admitted he had no background or experience with the caravan industry. Eventually, he aims to automate as much of the production process as possible.
The company aims to make around 1,100 units in its first year, with the first vans coming off the production line in late-November or early December. Lunar gained the quality standard ISO 9001 in November 2018, and the new team wants to build a reputation for quality.
According to Nicholas Marks, they are still negotiating with some component suppliers. He was keen to emphasise that no suppliers have stopped supplying Lunar Automotive.
