Knaus Tabbert sees double-digit growth in sales
Based on preliminary figures, German manufacturer, Knaus Tabbert, which makes motorhomes, campervans and caravans under various brand names across Europe, saw sales grow significantly last financial year (2021) and group revenue rise by 8.6% to €863 million (£750m), which is up from €795 million (£691m) the previous year
Sales increased by 11.3% from 23,897 motorhomes, caravans and campervans to 26,588 units. It suggests the results could have been better but it had to introduce a temporary shift in production capacity from motorhomes to caravans, which have lower revenues, because of chassis and parts supply delays.
Wolfgang Speck, CEO of Knaus Tabbert AG, said,
The high demand for recreational vehicles continues unbroken, which is also reflected in our order backlog of €1.3 billion [£1.13bn] as of December 2021. The challenges along the supply chain have demanded a lot from us, our suppliers and our customers. In the course of the fourth quarter of 2021, we were able to successively reduce the delivery backlogs of unfinished vehicles.
