Is it time to make it your Year of the UK Touring Holiday?

What tempts you to a holiday destination more? Guaranteed sunshine? Great food? Time with your family?

We all want something special from our holidays. More people have chosen to go away in their caravans this year than ever, according to the Caravan & Motorhome Club. Bookings at the Club's sites are up by 16% at the start of the year, and summer bookings are up by 17%.

With so much to see in the UK, it's no wonder caravanners have booked pitches with such enthusiasm. The UK has much to offer by way of beautiful scenery, great food and drink, plus interesting towns, cities and sites to visit.

The most popular pastimes for Caravan & Motorhome Club members are cycling, walking and surfing when away in their vans.

What's better?

Waking up in a hotel room with someone telling you when you can have your breakfast? Or, waking up in your caravan with a sea view and the surf a matter of metres away? Or, coming back from a great day out in the hills to your home from home, kicking off your boots and putting the kettle on?

People love caravanning for the sense of freedom you get when you're on holiday.

And, the sense of freedom is not all.

According to a recent survey*, visitors to campsites or holiday parks experience improved health and wellbeing when they've stayed on them in their caravans. This experience is probably due to the increased amount of exercise and fresh air caravanners get when away on campsites across the UK.

With more people choosing to book UK touring caravan holidays this year, can we say 2019 is 'The Year of the UK Touring Holiday'?
