Thousands of flower fans are flocking to this year's Shrewsbury Flower Show on the 8th and 9th August, which is set to commemorate the show that never was, cancelled in 1914 due to the start of The Great War.

Attractions are to include stunning floral displays by some of the best nurseries and growers in the country, incredible produce to eat and drink in the packed food hall, a busy schedule in the arena with animal displays, comedy fireworks and more. There will also be plenty for the kids to see too, such as juggling displays, story telling and magic!

Headline acts for 2014 include two Michelin-starred chef undertaking three cookery demonstrations on each day, popular gardening expert, Pippa Greenwood, who's taking time off from appearences on television and radio shows such as Gardener's Question Time to attend, and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers – bagpipe rock at its best!

Advance tickets cost £23 for adults and £21 for anyone over 60 years old. Children 15 years old and under can enter for free when accompanied by an adult. Discounts are available for anyone attending the show later on in the day and paying on the gate. For more informaiton visit shrewsburyflowershow.org.uk

Nearby Oxon Hall Touring Park has 100 touring pitches and would make an ideal base for visitors to the show. Visit the website or call 01743 340868 to book early and avoid disappointment.
