Duvalay moves to new premises
Duvalay has bought a four-acre site in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, to consolidate both its existing leased factories into one. The move was due to happen earlier on in the year but was delayed due to lockdown, with the transition being completed in September.
The company, which is renowned for its Duvalay motorhome and caravan bedding range, has grown significantly in recent years after entering the Dragon’s Den TV Series nine years ago. Its products (both for the outdoor leisure market and the home) are now distributed across Europe and the US, as well as in the UK.
Looking to expand into the Asian markets, Duvalay has signed distribution rights in both China and South Korea, too. The move was necessary to enable this growth, increase productivity and reduce delivery times.
Duvalay founder, Liz Colleran, explains: “The extra space in the new factory has allowed us to move onto a double-shift pattern for most of our workers to help meet demand. It has also helped us to ensure we have a Covid-19 safe workplace with room for social distancing. Over the course of the next several months, we hope to be able to recruit from our local region,”
Duvalay’s new premises will serve as the company’s headquarters – housing all sales and customer service staff, plus a showroom will also be accessible on site.
