Diamondbrite takes steps to reduce environmental impact

Diamondbrite, a paint and fabric protection specialist for the automotive industry, has made changes to its manufacturing process and product range to reduce the company's environmental impact.

The Kent-based company produces over a million plastic bottles per year, which are fully recyclable and, since 2019, manufactured using partially recycled materials. It has also reduced the size of its bottles from 125ml to 100ml, thanks to a new, extra-concentrated product formula of its Stage 1 and Stage 2 Protection Kits.

These changes have resulted in a saving in Diamondbrite's plastic creation of over 7.5 tonnes. And, since making the switch to using recycled plastics, it's made a saving of virgin plastic (plasticresin newly created without any recycled materials) of 8.7 tonnes.

To reduce the company's environmental impact further, Diamondbrite's 45,000 square-foot Leicestershire production facility has been refitted with the latest in energy efficient lighting.

Marketing Director, Lance Boseley, commented; “We have always supplied our trade customers with highly concentrated five litre products, which helps reduce both plastic consumption and shipping weight. But we wanted to do more, and with millions of bottles being sent out our door each year, wanted to reduce the impact of our products across the entire range”.
