HULL-based Coachman Caravans are embarking on their first apprenticeship programme.

Two school leavers are due to start their three-year apprenticeship after which they will receive nationally-recognised qualifications in carpentry.

Alan Roberts, production director for Coachman, said: “In previous years a more informal programme of up-skilling employees has taken place. However, with a downturn in the local labour market, it became apparent that an apprenticeship programme is the way forward to invest in both the future of the company and its employees.”
