Club site bookings blossom for 2012 season

The Camping and Caravanning Club is reporting rocketing site bookings as motorhomers opt for an Easter ‘holiday at home’.

The Club’s advanced bookings for the Easter bank holiday weekend (April 6-9) are currently up 28 per cent compared to the same period in 2010 and five per-cent up on last year – and this number is only predicted to rise over the next three weeks.

With key events taking place including the Torch Relay, the Cultural Festival, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, domestic tourism is expected to benefit.

This good news comes just a week before the official opening of the majority of the Club’s UK Club Sites and Camping in the Forest Sites on Thursday, March 29, 2012.

New to the network this year are Drayton Manor Club Site near Tamworth and Braithwaite Fold, Bowness-on-Windermere Club Site in the Lake District.

Robert Louden, the Club’s Director General, said: “With so much going on in 2012, this is the perfect time to make the most of the UK and take a holiday - our booking numbers are extremely positive at this stage.”
