Keal Lodge CL scooped the CL of the Year 2009 award at a prestigious ceremony held by the Caravan Club in the Houses of Parliament last month.

Owned by Keith and Jean Rogers, the site is only a five-minute walk from the historic Lincolnshire village of Deeping St James, with its pubs and restaurants, good local shops and walks along the River Welland.

The runner up in the national awards was Laithes Lodge CL, Blackpool, owned by David and Jean Clarkson, and in third place was Stoneyways CL in Woodbridge, Suffolk, owned by Roy and Hilda Griggs.

This year the Caravan Club also celebrates fifty years of the Certificated Location sites network.

Certificated Locations are small, five-pitch, privately-owned informal sites, which are often found in picturesque rural settings, on working farms, beside pub gardens, and even in the grounds of stately homes.

There are around 2500 in the UK and CLs are for the exclusive use of Caravan Club members.
