Celebs Light Up Peak District Ridge
National Camping and Caravanning Week got off to a bright start with around 600 hillwalkers lighting up one the Peak District's two mile ridges this week.
Camping and Caravanning Club President and TV Presenter, Julia Bradbury, and Made in Chelsea star, Sam Thompson, joined the walkers as the daylight faded. They lit up the trail on the ridge with their torches making an impressive display.
The campaign aims to encourage more people to experience the UK's beautiful national parks, and protect them through the 'Mend our Mountains' initiative.
The British Mountaineering Council's 'Mend our Mountains' campaign aims to raise £1 million to help repair and protect the popular paths through the parks.
Hiking and walking are the favourite activities of 60% of campers, and the great views on a walk are important for hikers when choosing a route.
Julia Bradbury is a seasoned walker, whereas Sam Thompson admits to being something of a stranger to camping and trekking.
