SAVINGS achievable on new caravans due to the 2.5% cut in VAT have been highlighted by some of the UK’s biggest ‘van manufacturers.

Both Explorer Group and Swift Group say the cost of their products to the consumer has reduced “significantly” since the cut in VAT, announced in the pre-Budget report, took effect.

Swift Group say that, depending on the model, the price of some tourers has fallen by between £220 and £410 and Explorer Group say that with a minimum saving of £200 on the entry-level Xplore tourer range the move is “great news for the buying public”.

Bailey say recommended retail prices including VAT at the new rate will be reduced by between £228 and £370 dependent on the model.
