Administrators seek buyer for Lunar Caravans
As Preston-based Lunar Caravans went into administration due to its financial difficulties, its administrators are looking for a buyer.
Lunar makes lightweight caravans from its base, Lostock Hall, in Lancashire. The company has had ‘severe’ cashflow problems ‘following a period of challenging trading conditions’. Before the administrators, FRP Advisory LLP, were appointed, Lunar stopped production of all its 202 models and most of its 196 staff were laid off.
In the meantime, administrators, management and full-time employees are looking to sell the company and its assets.
Joint Administrator, Dave Acland, said:
“Lunar Caravans is a renowned manufacturer of lightweight touring caravans and over the past 50 years has established a reputation for innovative designs and cost-effective models that have become hugely sought after among UK holidaymakers, enjoying an enviable market position and strong brand.”
With recent reports that bookings to UK campsites are up and that the staycation is more popular than ever, the administrators are looking for a buyer of the business.
Potential buyers should call FRP Advisory on 0161 833 3344.
