One of the caravan and motorhome industry’s biggest personalities has received an honorary award from the University of Derby.

University Chancellor, the Duke of Devonshire (KCVO CBE DL) presented, Mr Amott with his award at the graduation ceremony.

Mr Amott said: “This is indeed a great honour, especially for me, a local lad who left school at the age of fifteen with no qualifications. I sincerely hope that I can continue to contribute to the caravan industry and local sport, both of which are dear to me.”

Mr Amott has been involved with sport for many years and was previously a director of Burton Albion Football Club and co-owner of Derby County, where he is now Honorary Vice-President. He was also Chairman of Derbyshire County Cricket Club.
