2019 Special Edition caravans from Lowdhams

Bailey Phoenix SE

Lowdhams adds a new special edition to its portfolio for 2019 – the Bailey Phoenix SE. The SE has over £2000-worth of extra equipment compared to standard Phoenix models.

The added extras include:

• gas barbecue point
• 100-watt solar panel
• drop-down kitchen worktop extension
• Tracker and PIR-activated intruder alarm
• exterior mains socket
• swan-neck kitchen tap
• a Hartal door with a window and integral waste bin/clip-in dustpan and brush.

There are also special SE graphics, an SE entrance doormat and an exclusive fabrics scheme.

The difference in price between the standard Phoenix models and the SE version is between £1000 and £1039, depending on the model. So, buyers of Lowdhams' SE get £2000-worth of extra equipment for around £1000.

For example, the price of the smallest caravan in the standard Phoenix range, the two-berth 420 is £16,699, to which the normal delivery fee of £565 is added, making the full price £17,234.

The SE version costs £18,264 including the delivery fee. So, for the SE version of this layout, buyers pay an extra £1030 and get £2000-worth of additional equipment.

The largest caravan in the Phoenix range, the twin-axle, six-berth 760, costs £19,999 + £565 delivery, making it £20,564 in total. The price of the SE version is £21,564 so, for £1000, buyers get £2000-worth of extras.

Another example: the standard 642, which has twin beds, has a price of £18,499 + £565 delivery, making it £19,064. Lowdhams' Phoenix SE costs £20,064; for £1000, you get £2000-worth of extra kit.

Swift Challenger Hi-style

The Hi-Style range of eight models has over £3000-worth of extra equipment.

These include Swift's Lux Pack which adds £625 to the price of standard Challengers and gives buyers:

• the illuminated kitchen splashback
• key-fob operated alarm
• awning light
• barbecue point
• mains external point
• external access service door to the nearside front bed storage area

Hi-Styles also have the AL-KO ATC trailer control system plus Alde central heating and water heating.

Additional equipment on Hi-Style models includes:

• a side-lift jack and brackets
• heavy-duty corner steadies (the rear ones are lockable)
• an illuminated washroom mirror
• upholstered panels alongside the side windows and in the corners of the lounge
• an AL-KO Secure wheel lock
• a Truma Waterline connector so that you can connect to a tap on a pitch
• a handle on the jockey wheel to make manoeuvring easier
• dimmable spotlights
• and a second TV point on some models

They also have an Omnivent extractor fan, and an 'entertainment hatch'; a TV bracket and connections are in the outside locker so that you can watch TV in your awning.

Fixed-bed models get a larger headboard than in the standard version. A hanging rail in the washroom features on some layouts.

Buyers pay around £2000 more for the Hi-Style version of Challengers, for which they get more than £3000 of extra equipment.

As an example, the standard two-berth Challenger 480's price is £20,825 including the Lux pack, + £545 delivery, making a total of £21,370.

So buyers gain £3000 worth of extras for £925.

The twin-axle 650, in standard form, is £24,165 including delivery and the Lux pack. The Hi-Style 650 is £26,195, so, with this model, buyers pay £2030 more than for the standard version, gaining £3000-worth of extras.

Swift Freestyle SE

Based on the Sprite range, Freestyle SE models have over £2500-worth of extras.

This includes the Diamond Pack, which adds £510 to the price of standard single-axle Sprites and £610 to twin-axle models, and provides:

• a DAB radio,
• hitch-head stabiliser
• Al-KO Secure wheel lock receiver (two on twin-axle models)
• door flyscreen
• Microwave
• scatter cushions.

In addition, Freestyle SE models have the ATC stability control system, plus exclusive fabrics, illuminated washroom mirrors, panoramic sunroofs, 100-watt solar panels, pleated cassette blinds, barbecue points and exterior mains sockets. Twin-axle models have two TV points and heavy-duty corner steadies.

The Freestyle range offers nine layouts, including the eight-foot-wide Super Twin DB.

As an example, the smallest Freestyle, the two-berth Freestyle S 2, costs £18,594. The standard Sprite Alpine 2 on which it's based is £15,980 + £545 delivery, plus £510 for the Diamond Pack, making a total of £17,035. The difference in price is £1559.

The largest in the range, the Freestyle Super Twin DB, is £24,294. The standard Sprite Super DB is £21,645 + £545 delivery, plus the Diamond Pack (£610) making £22,800. The difference in price is £1494. So, for £1494 extra, buyers of this Freestyle model get more than £2500-worth of additional equipment.
