Essential Guide to 2021 caravans – Elddis caravans

Elddis Avante 868 caravan

This 8ft-wide, six-berth caravan has been designed with families in mind – twin bunks in a ‘pod’ at the rear of the caravan and, directly opposite, a fixed French-style bed.

It’s ideal for those who have younger children (there’s even little lights if they like story time in bed) and the front lounge can be used as two single beds or a large double, so it’s perfectly possible to have grandparents come on holiday, too!

In the centre of the caravan, you’ll find the bathroom and shower so whether sleeping at the front or the back of the caravan, you can be assured of maximum privacy.

For 2021, the exterior has been given an update – new sleek graphics on the ‘Carrara White’ aluminium shell.

Inside, you’ll find plenty of design flourishes, too, with soft LED lighting, the ActivCare upholstery scheme in ‘Bergamo’ features a hexagonal design on the cushions, while the sofa cushions and curtains remain more neutral.

As for technical equipment, you can expect a high specification from the Avante and that’s what you’ll get.

The caravan is built on an Al-Ko chassis with AKS 3004 stabiliser to keep you safe when you’re towing and the Whale Next Generation system – Elddis CompleteHeat ensures you’re kept warm all year round

The Thetford K1520 MK2 Black oven/grill ensures you can cook all the family’s favourite dishes just as you would at home and features in the bathroom are more domestic than you might expect with storage aplenty.

The washbowl has a boutique hotel-style feel and there’s ample room around the toilet so if the whole family are getting ready for bed at the same time, it’s no problem!

This is a great-value caravan with a huge amount of kit and space for the whole family to spread out.

SPECIFICATION

Price from £25,244 OTR
Layout French bed, twin bunks

Elddis Affinity 550 caravan

With a classic island bed set-up, this is a four-berth caravan perfect for a couple or small family.

During the day, the 6ft 3in bed retracts, giving you extra space to enjoy lounging in and the front lounge is light and bright thanks to the Large Heki Lux Stargazer with stylish integrated downlights.

New for 2021 is the ‘Venezia’ upholstery scheme – soft grey sofas with silver piping and then silver and grey cushions coordinate perfectly.

It’s a carefully considered look that is both modern and stylish for those caravanners who like the finer things in life.

The vanity and storage unit in the bedroom has LED strip lighting that casts a soft glow whether you’re getting ready for the day or heading out for the evening and the drawers in the caravan now benefit from new 15cm hollow core doors and drawer fronts.

An Alde 3020 compact boiler is part of the specification and heats both the caravan and water quickly – ideal if you’re touring throughout the cooler months.

To further add to the luxury touches, the fixed bed can be upgraded with the addition of a Hypnos mattress, ensuring you’ll wake feeling even more rested for the day.

SPECIFICATION

Price from £24,444 OTR
Layout Island bed, washroom/shower amidships

Elddis Crusader Borealis caravan

The Borealis is the latest addition to the all-star Crusader line-up. It’s an epic caravan that sleeps four in utter luxury.

The twin-axle has an L-shaped lounge and entertainment centre with an integrated 32in TV – it’s very much a caravan in which families can enjoy time together.

The front lounge is spacious, light and airy – enhanced by the panoramic front window and Stargazer rooflight. The L-shape seating converts to a good-size double at night.

The main bedroom is at the rear, next to the washroom and shower, giving an en suite feel and the 6ft 3in bed is retractable.

This caravan offers such a level of versatility and will suit the way you choose to holiday.

It is built on an Al-Ko chassis with AKS 3004 stabiliser and ATC and offers an Alde 3020 compact boiler.

For 2021, the Crusader range has been updated with a new ActivCare and PetFriendly upholstery scheme called ‘Siena’, which combines bronze and oatmeal tones and the ‘Ashton’ cabinetry is craftsman-built which includes details such as dovetailed joints and positive locking.
