New Forest Water Park, Hampshire

The New Forest Water Park is the first venue in the southwest of England to have a waterskiing and wakeboarding cable system, which removes the need for boats and allows more people to take to the water at once. Other watersports offered include kayaking and paddleboarding and tuition is available. I didn’t take part in any activities but just sitting in the sunshine watching everyone else was great fun and I can see why this is the place to come for any watersports enthusiast.
There’s a clubhouse on site which serves snacks, lunches and drinks during the day. There are eight electric pitches close to the lakeside and campfires are welcome. Toilets and showers are provided, in the clubhouse during opening hours, with additional facilities 24 hours a day.

Blair Castle Caravan Park forms part of the historic grounds of Blair Castle and Gardens and is surrounded by the Cairngorms National Park. The park is home to Segway Ecosse, which provides fun tours around the estate on Segways. Other activities on offer locally include horse riding, fishing, Land Rover safaris, treasure hunts and wildlife watching.
The modern reception building houses a shop and games room, there are five heated toilet/shower blocks, a putting green, children’s playground and even a hair and beauty room. There are over 200 hardstanding and grass pitches and a motorhome waste disposal point.
Cheddar Bridge Caravan Touring Park, Somerset
Draycott Road, Cheddar, Somerset BS27 3RJ
This is an adult-only site with luxury facilities and within walking distance of Cheddar Gorge and Caves. The river runs through the touring park with some of the pitches nicely positioned next to the riverbank. Motorhome pitches are on level ground with hardstandings available and electric hook-up. The area around Cheddar Gorge is perfect for walkers, with lots of stunning clifftop views. Rock climbers will also be happy here, but we like it for the adventure caving (cheddargorge.co.uk/x-treme/adventure-caving) which you can enjoy in the caves of the gorge itself. Led by an experienced guide and with all equipment provided, venture off the beaten track into the less-trodden caverns and tunnels.
Cheddar Bridge is perfectly located for walking to Cheddar Gorge. You must try the adventure caving, it was a great experience exploring places most people never see. We emerged from our expedition with muddy knees and big smiles.
Lee Valley Campsite, Sewardstone London

Ideal for trips to central London, Lee Valley is also perfect for exploring the countryside too. The 1,000-acre River Lee Country Park is on the doorstep and offers plenty of cycling trails, walking routes, boating and wildlife. If you prefer activities with more action then head to Lee Valley White Water Centre to enjoy rafting, kayaking and other water based sports.
The Lee Valley Campsite has toilets, showers, hook-ups, a shop and children’s playground, along with a golf course, café and bar nearby. Lee Valley sits outside of the Low Emissions Zone.
