Two Cornwall campsites win big in recent tourism awards
The winners in the 2021/22 Cornwall Tourism Awards have been announced via an online awards day
Held annually, the Cornwall Tourism Awards recognise quality, excellence and innovation, with this year marking the twentieth year of the competition.
In the category of Camping & Caravanning Park of the Year, two campsites which are members of the high-quality campsites group, Premier Parks, gained awards:
Gold went to Trevalgan Touring Park, near St Ives
Silver was awarded to Trewan Hall, situated a few miles from Newquay
Malcolm Bell, Head of VisitCornwall, commented,
After two very challenging years, it is very exciting and also gratifying to see the dedication of the finalists to drive up quality, despite there being a pandemic with all its twists and turns to cope with – a very big well done to all.
Winners in most categories will be automatically considered for the regional South West Tourism Excellence Awards later in the year, with many going on to be nominated to represent the region in the national VisitEngland awards.
