Scottish campsite unveils pitches for bigger motorhomes

Perthshire campsite, Blair Castle Caravan park, opens for the 2019 season on the 1st March, and introduces five new pitches aimed at bigger motorhomes and caravans. These new Super-sized pitches offer an extra metre of length, making them 9m long in total.

There are still 200 standard 8m long pitches to take your pick from as well.

Julia Sim, Head of Sales and Marketing at Blair Castle and Gardens said: “We recognise the growing demand for touring vehicles and visitors are increasingly choosing to travel with their own vehicles, which provides them with greater familiarity. The new pitches offer travellers an excellent opportunity to discover Perthshire in luxurious comfort with their own super-size vehicles."

The site opens on 1st March and closes mid-November for the winter season. Super-sized pitches start from £27 per night.

Situated in the heart of Atholl Estates, Blair Castle was built in 1269 and today is the home to the 12th Duke of Atholl. Set against the magnificent landscape of 145,000-acres, the estate offers beautifully scenic vistas of rolling farmland and wild open hills across Perthshire.

For day visitors, Blair Castle will be open from Saturday 30th March until Thursday 31st October. Entrance to Blair Castle and Gardens costs just £7.70 for children and £12 for adults, with a family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children) available for £35. Key events to note are the Atholl Highlander Weekend (24 - 26 May) when the Duke carries out an annual inspection of his army, the only 90-strong private army remaining in Europe and the Blair Castle Horse Trials (22 - 25 August 2019).
